Travis Benjamin wins PASS North finale, DJ Shaw successful in Super Late Model championship defense

Seekonk, Massachusetts – Travis Benjamin did all that he could do in his quest for a third Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model championship, winning the season-ending 150-lapper at Seekonk Speedway. A seventh-place finish turned in by defending champion DJ Shaw proved to be enough to hold off Benjamin’s rally in the title bout. It is the third PASS North Super Late Model championship for Shaw, his family team and chief supporters Julio & Rita Miglioli.

PASS to Tackle High Banks Again at Memorial Day Classic

Barre, VT – The Thunder returns to Barre on Sunday, May 27 at 1:30pm as Thunder Road wraps up the month of May with the 56th Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic. With the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models joining the hometown Thunder Road favorites as part of a 5-division card, a big holiday afternoon of racing is in store as the 59th season of competition kicks into high gear.

Star winner, 4th at Beech Ridge

The Benjamin Motorsports team went into beech ridge with some momentum on there side and would be looking for another good run. In practice the car was fast and Travis was very happy. In the qualifying heat the 7 car would start 2nd and win the qualifying race. That would start the team 3rd for the main event. During the 200 laps feature Travis would ride in 2nd for most of the race and take the lead on lap 122 just before the lap 125 mandatory pit stop. After the pit stop the car wasn’t as good and for the last 75 laps Travis would have to battle a loose car and would finish 4th. (more…)

Travis Benjamin prevails in PASS North Super Late Model thriller at Star Speedway

Epping, NH – Defending Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model champion Travis Benjamin of Belfast, Maine nailed down his first race victory of the season, prevailing in a close battle versus Reid Lanpher to earn top honors in Saturday night’s Support 50 Legs 150 at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire.

Benjamin’s paint-swapping battle with Lanpher was just the final entertaining duel on the racy quarter-mile oval for the lead. The Weirs GMC-sponsored racer turned back other challengers during the 150-lapper, most notably from Johnny Clark and Joe Squeglia, Jr.
