The Benjamin Motorsports team started there title defense with two top 10 finishes at Thompson speedway in Connecticut and at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine.
At the first race in Thompson the team had a really good car but without having a built engine the team wasn’t able to keep up the straightaway speeds as others. So after the last 3 years where the team hasn’t finished at this track, the team was happy with a top 10.
This past weekend the team went into Oxford with a new car and after practice the team was happy with the car. In the qualifying race the team won there qualifying race and would start on the pole for the 150 lap main event. Travis would lead for almost half the race and would end up finishing on the podium with a 3rd place finish.
Our first two races have been great and Im excited for the rest of the season. At Thompson we had a great car but the rules allow you to run a different engine for this one track and we didn’t want to go and spend thousands of dollars for one race so we will take a top 10 and at oxford we had a good car. I felt it was a great first race on this car. We will make a few little changes and make it better for this weekends race on beech ridge. Travis said after the race at oxford.
We want to thank all our great sponsors you can go on our Benjamin Motorsports Facebook page and follow us at all our races this summer.
